Healthcare Communications
I have had the pleasure of working with the staff of pharmaceutical companies as well as public relations firms to train staff on a range of issues associated with healthcare communications. I also had the privilege to teach Media Relations in Master's Program in Public Relations and Corporate Communications.
I offer some very specific trainings for staff working in healthcare, and am also able to develop customized trainigs based on specific client needs:
-
Becoming a Medicine - an thorough overview othe development and approval of a new medicine. This module takes trainees through the communications milestones associated with the phases of clinical research and regulatory consideration, including an in-depth understanding of the FDA advisory committee process.
-
Speaking of Medicine - supporting trainees in developing an understanding of the nuanced communications issues navigating on behalf of a highly regulated industry. This module reviews the history of FDA enforcement trends and priorities in relation to promotional speech and the imperatives that exist when engaged in communication planning related to prescription drugs.
-
Accessing Medicine - providing an overview of how people in the U.S. access medicines through both public and private insurance programs; how the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) fits into the issues of pricing; and how the Inflation Reduction Act works to impact the pricing of medicines.
